LTA Question

I have been in reefs for a few years but never dealt with an anemone of my own. I received my LTA on Wednesday (drip acclimated) and it has yet to attach it's foot in the sand. I know he is stressed from his trip but the color in his foot and body look really good. He inflates well but just hasn't attached. I reduced the flow in my established(2 years) 150g tank so he wouldn't blow around while trying to settle. I even dug a hole in the sand for it and placed but it worked itself out of the hole. My two clowns have taken to it and follow and roll around in it. (not as agressively as I have witnessed other clowns and anemones) I have read where hosting clowns usually make the transition easier for the anemone. Any way is there anything else I should be doing?

I think you've done everything you can. Congrats on your purchase! The only thing I would watch out for is to ensure that the clowns aren't 'bugging' it so much that it can't attach and settle somewhere.
Anemone's aren't that difficult (at least from my experience), all you have to do is provide the right environment, and ensure everything is stable and that it is.

Thanks Lex. The clown fish aren't abusing in fact one of the clowns will rub on the base and the foot of the anemone and it will stretch out 7-8" inches tall while laying on its side. It seems to be stimulated by the clown. I was hoping there was something else I could do. I guess it is just a wait and see and hope it will become less stressed and settle. If anyone else has any advice it would be greatly appreciated.

Lex pretty much hit it all IMO... Anemones can take a little while to settle in and get acclimated to their new surroundings. Yours will enjoy keeping itself planted in your sand bed. Just make sure you have good lighting and indirect flow around it, and it shouldnt want to move.

Well I came home today to the same situation. Still no foot planting. Still expanding and has not started wilting away, thank goodness. I hope it is just taking its time on settling because it is really a nice size and has great color. Fingers crossed.

Had to lay my LTA to rest yesterday. He just never got his foot under him from the shipping. I guess I will give it one more attempt from a LFS.
