M/H lighting over a 10 gal

as far as a 10 gallon goes I wouldn't go more then 75-100 watts. Simply because there is so little water that it will quickly burn up...thats my guess anyways. Although a coralife 150w pendant may not be too bad if placed high enough prolly.

I woul get a 150 watt hqi pendant because any metal halide under like 150 watts is just as intense as vho's from what I've read. Also the hqi's supposely run cooler and are as intense as a 250 watt mogul base halide.

I have had a 70w 10K HQI + 1X28w PC actinic on my 10 for a year now. It's OK but there are few choices of bulbs with a 70. I am building a 150w HQI for it that will have a 14K bulb & I'm thinking I'm going to like it better. There will be 3 fans in the hood and the tank has an auto top off system. Evaporation is significant.
