Mac or PC

Over the weekend I had a 3 hour discussion on why a regular non computer literate person should use a PC instead of a MAC. And I was wondering some of your opinions.
Personally I prefer useing PC, I work on both PC and MAC and still I prefer PC. Does anyone share my preference or disagree? and why?

PC for price and compatability, MAC for stability and performance. For my DAW (Digital Audo Workstation) I use a MAC G4, for school papers, surfing, and other general stuff I use my girlfreinds PC.

MAC performance and stability?? Performance and Stability if your working with the updated OS. God only knows how many times my G/F Ibook has frozen up on her only because she hasnt bought the update of there newest OS. Hows that for stability and performance if right when you fail to do a update BAM frozen city. Thats actually happend to me on two of my out Dated MACs allso that are now broke down and worthless? what do you say

true enough some versons do ahve problems, namly mac's newer platforms. I stick with osx 10 and leave it at that. It works well for me anyhow. The stability, for me, is under pressure. Recoding at 24-bit and 96khz, is taxing and MACs do it better then PC's. It is why for video editing, music recording or any other labour intesive application, mac is a better choice.

True for video proccessing one of my friends does editeing on his MAC with OSX10 i think and he did a show down with his mac and his PC and the MAC blew it away. No comparison. PC was Jolty and Image quality was horrible when compared. And i think his PC was a P4 3.2 w/2gig DDR OCZ PC-3200. NO GO His G still was crazy fast. There Dual-proccessor is hard to beat. Unless the PC enthus went with the Dual Zeon or a P4 3.4ghz-and a whole lot more money
