macro photography.... how do you do it???

Macro is a setting on your camera. On Canon's it's the 'flower' setting. Your camera needs a macro setting if you're going to be taking pictures of items 6" or less from the lens, especially through aquarium glass.
When I use the macro setting, I'll ramp my camera's ISO up to 400, select macro, turn the flash off, and turn on the high-speed action setting. So when I take macro shots I'll be taking three quick shots w/ one push of the button, in less than a second. This high-speed shooting seems to work well, as it helps reduce blurs from unsteady hands, as the middle picture avoids that first shake from pressing the button.

Most cameras 2mP and above will have a macro mode. Look through your instructions. There should be something with a flower either on your camera or in the menus.

go to sony web site and look up your camera. you can download your instruction booklet there as a pdf file.
or if you want post your camera make and model number and i will tell you if you have it or not

your camera works on a 5 step auto focus system and does have a macro system for shots as close as 3.5 inches.
the problem is that the sony information site is down right now and i cant link to your user guide today. sorry.
anyhow just go to sony home page and click on customer service, then chose digital imaging, put in your make and model and chose documentation. your user guide will show up with all the info you need.
like said above most of the time on cameras that have macro there will be a tiny tulup looking flower icon on the camera. many times it is the same button that is used to activate the timer. move your settings to that and that will be macro mode. if you dont see that then just do like i said above and you should find what you need
