well i decided to get a serpent star black and white banded but prodominately white, a emrald crab and i must say im very happy with him already. he is very very interesting and started eating my diatom algea and detritus right away. i got a couple pepermint shrimp i just figured id give them a whirl i have a couple aptasia so. i also got a queen conch kinda boring and smaller than i expected but i might go get another one and one or two more crabs. hes a carl lewis because there was a ring (track like) of clean sand were he was running all night. It was very cloudy this morning in the tank was it because of the crab???

You got a queen conch for a 55g tank? Are you aware how big they can get? Their shells can get to over 1 foot. Were you thinking about fighting conchs? They are much, much smaller and good sand cleaners as well.
I suspect your tank is cloudy because some/all the critters you bought are stirring up the sand.

well it isnt bigger than my thumbnail, the queen. I guess if it gets too big i can bring it back but the lfs didnt say anything about it getting too big and they are very good about not selling me the wrong stuff. well ill keep an eye on it.

Baron i am from florida. The last thing we are worrying about is bacteria that a fish may bring to the ecosystem. The florida current does a great job. Also conchs are from florida waters and please remeber that animals and fish migrate.

Can anyone say zebra mussel? Baron has the right idea. Regardless of how sure we are we are doing the right thing, it's not worth it for one specimen. Try a public aquarium, and if they won't take it consult them on what you should do. It doesn't take much for a species to catch on. For those of you who haven't heard about it yet, here is a link to an article regarding volitans lions being found along the Atlantic coast of the US. Hopefully they won't catch on, but even though I'm environmentally friendly I dream of the same thing happening with Conspiculatus angels. :D
