Made my first open water dive today

Made it down to 25 feet, no problems, except the water was around 50 degrees. Talk about acting like a turtle, yee ouch! It was still awesome though. Can't wait to dive the keys this summer:happy:

Congrats! Were you lake diving, or were you in salt? If lake diving, could you see two feet in front of you?

Lake up in Mt. Storm here in WV. Huge lake, goes to 130 feet + deep. Visibility was about 10 feet.

Which program are you going through? It's always good to start out in a murky lake, so when you finally do make it down to the keys, you will be totally blown away. I forced my husband to get certified before our honeymoon in the Caymans and he did a drift dive down a 10 ft. deep river, and in a 30 ft. sinkhole. He went nuts once we got to the Caymans.

Going thru the PADI open water certification right now. I am on a dive team thru my work so I will get to do lots of neat training, and best of all, equipment is free!!!!

Oh, you're in law enforcement...Are you going to be on the search and recovery team? That would quite a job there.

Search and recovery, also search and rescue/swift water rescue.
