I finnally took the leap and started buying things I'll need for a 12 gallon tank, how is it looking?
25' No Spill Clean & Fill
2 Jager 50W 8.5" Heater's
Maxi-Jet 900 Power Head [230 gph]
4 1/2" Vertical Safety Thermometer - 68° to 90°F
Salinity Refractometer 1
60 GPD Four Stage MaxPure RO/DI System
AquaC Nano Remora w/ MJ900 Protein Skimmer
thats it so far, i still need the tank and other things.
What chemicals will I need for a fish and coral tank?
The skimmer came with a maxijet900 powerhead, so that means i'll have the stock power head plus an extra powerhead. Should i replace the stock one with the 900, or just run the 900 along with the stock one?, do i need an extra powerhead for the saltwater mixing bucket? i bought an extra heater for it.
any suggestions welcome.
p.s. i'm getting the aquapod 12 gallon with 2x27 watt lighting

I would replace the stock pump with the Maxijet 900. The stock pumps cannot be trusted. They run hot, can leak oil in your tank, and can quit on you with no warning.
Not to run you away from what you're getting, but are you sure you want to get a 12 gal. aquapod? With the equipment you purchased you could have a sweet 24 gal. or even a 29 gal. glass aquarium that would be a lot cheaper. Just a thought.

As far as chemicals go wait and see how your salt tests. If it is low in a particular category you will want an additive to get it to normal levels. For test kits I recommend the Salifert ones on this site for Ammonia, Nitrate, Phosphorus, Calcium, Alkalinity, pH.
