Mag-Drive Supreme 2 250 GPH Water Pump

does anyone have any experience with these pumps? and will it be able to work with a 1'' or 1/2" pvc pipe?

I have a Mag 2 running as the recirculating pump on my calcium reactor. It has 1/2" plumbing both in and out. Using 1" plumbing would work, though at only 250gph, you would barely see any velocity out of the pipe.
