my clownfish disappeared while I was gone over the week. It's mate is still there, but has completely vanished. This has happened for the second time in my tank....my fish just up and vanish....they havn't jumped out and they are not in my sump...I dunno where they would go...I don't think anything in my tank would harm them....coral banded shrimp....hermits....arrowhead crab....decorator crab spider. any ideas?

This happened to me a long time ago. My goby dissapeared for about 4 days and I looked and looked for it. One day I noticed that the overflow wasn't working properly and I reached my hand in there expecting to find a carcass or a wad of cheato and I felt a lifeless goby. Or so I thought. I got ready to pick it up and it started spazzing out. It scared the crap out of me and I put it in the tank. It is alive to this day and doing just fine. So don't give up hope. Check your plumbing and be on the lookout for things like mantis shrimp.

yea i'm going to take apart the plumbing in the morning to see...I hope he is in there and has been a real trooper. I set it up so it was absolutley impossible for anything to get into my overflow...I have 2 pre filters before the decent to my sump. But I guess if there's a will there's a way huh?
