magnets for cleaning

I currently use a wand with a scrub pad on it. It works good for Brown Algea but not green. The wand comes with an attachment that scrapes, but it does not work great and I do not want to scratch my glass. I am debating buyng one of the magnets.
Has anyone had luck with this ?

I use both. I have a mag float, but I dont like to get it too close to the sandbed because I am afraid that I will scratch my glass. I use the scrubbing brush for the area near the sandbed.

I use a mag float too. I think its great. I just dont get close to the sand bed either. I use the algae scraper for that.

mag floats are probably the least expensive thing to buy for this hobby. Well worth the money and helps keep your hand and arm out of tank. If you pick up any sand just rinse it off so you don't scratch glass. LFS always overcharge for these. look online.
