Make an Anemone Settle?

Is there something we can do to make our BTA settle in one spot? We've had him for about 3 weeks. He tends to stay on one side of the tank, but cruises around a lot. He is in a different spot everyday...on top and sides of LR and underneath LR 'bridge', and 2x's on glass at the water line. Generally moves overnight. Our lights come on from 3:30-9pm, blue actinic and metal halides.

no there is nothing you can do to make it stay in one spot.
Just give it time and it will find a place it likes with the right flow and lighting.
sometimes thats behind your rocks or if your lucky right out in front. it's all a waiting game with a new anemone.

How big is your tank? How much flow is in your tank?

They usually move around until they find a spot they want, not what you like (unfortunatly?) Just make sure they get enough food and light...I think your specs are o.k. Also I would hand feed them, this seems to learn them a bit that they need not move to capture food. This is what ive' been told and has worked for me. good luck

ooops! just read that your lights are only on about 51/2 hours?

I would have the lights on longer. Anemones need A LOT of lighting.

Increase your photoperiod by at least 2.5 hours so you will be getting 8 hours.
