So I have my 6 foot long Outer Orbit HQI Metal Halide on the way. Something like 840 watts with the PC's or something. I was just going to take one end bulb out and two actinics out because my tank is only 48" long (I know it sounds weird).
I am waiting for a 190 that is supposed to take 6 months to get. That is why I didnt want to waste my money on a 48" when I am going to need a 72" in the future.
Anyways, I was talking to a buddy of mine today and had a decent idea. Coral growing tank. 24" - directly to the right of my 55. Put some egg crate up near the top for the SPS and LPS corals and use live sand as a substrate. I already have a CPR Bak that has been in my garage for 6 months and the 20 gallon high tank. So this 24" right next to my 48" 55. I was just figuring I can line most of the bottom of the smaller tank with larger "pebbles" and just once every week or two lop off a section of coral from the main tank and toss it into the smaller tank. Maybe even sell some to fellow hobbyists in the process.
