Making a VHO light canopy

I just purchased a new ballast and 4 3' VHO lights, 2 white and 2 blue actinic, for my soon to be 75 gallon reef tank, and I'm going to make my own canopy. Does anyone have any comments or suggestions on what the best way to do it is (material, light placement, how high to place above tank, etc.)?
