making noise

My sump seems to make a lot of noise. I mean it is not quite. All I here is water splashing from the overflow as well.Is this normal or is there a way to silence it.

I added a piece of 3/4" tubing in the overflow drain. It helped alot! Mine sounded like a toilet running!

Depending on the pipe/hose draining back to the sump, you may be able to reposition it in the sump or take some other simple steps.
Describe how your drain system is set up.
Does it allow water from the overflow to hit the surface in the sump, or does the water enter the sump under the surface.
Details my friend !
There are ways to fix this noise, or at least reduce it somewhat ... but first knowing how your set up is will help to determine which route to go.
