Making the change!

So I have decided to change my plan of action, I was going to do the whole reef and lighting thing, but I'm in college and i dont need to spend that much money, I have a 55 gallon and I think im gonna go FOWLR. I already have a niger trigger, and all I have for lighting is a single 50/50 flourescant. This is what I plan on adding to the tank:
Huma huma trigger
small puffer (any suggestions as to which puffer)?
flame angel
Any other suggestions?

Just make sure those fish are suitable for a 55gal, I'm pretty sure just the flame angel requires 65+gallons of water if I remember right...

A small puffer would work like a toby but none of those others. They get way too big. Puffers also have a large bioload. You could also look at some of the less aggressive clowns, firefish, a sandsifter to keep the substrate clean, maybe a small eel. What kind of FOWLR are you looking for?? Agressive, peaceful, in-between??? You really need to know that before you start buying fish.
Oh btw those niger triggers can get really big and nasty. You may want to consider trading him back into the LFS.

A Niger trigger grows relatively fast and has no place in a 55. A humu Trigger, while a bit smaller and slower grower then a Niger, will still outgrow a 55 in a couple of years. Smaller tanks and cramped quarters will also increase aggression in triggers. If you want to do a 55 FOWLR, stick to a smaller peaceful community or do just a few smaller aggressive fish(like a Fuzzy Lion, Snowflake Eel, and Maroon Clown).
