male clown changing 2 female

how long does it take 4 clowns 2 change ---. I have 1 female still in QT and want 2 get her a new partner, is it possible that if i pick out a male 4 her that he may change into a female in the bag on the way home or on his own during quarantine?
I was thinking mayb I should get 3 clowns, quarantine them 2gether, the pick out which 1 of them is the female and then keep 1 male 4 her and take the other male 4 the other clownfish I already have.
Any suggestions?

in most cases take your larger clown and pair it with a much smaller one.
if the larger clown has been in the tank for to long however you may have a problem. there is now rule that says they will pair up. it is hit and miss sometimes.
and no it wont change on the way home lol
