Male clownfish transforming to female even though female is still around!

I was just gazing at my tank today, when I realized that my male clown seems to be transforming into a female. The reason why I believe this, is because around the stomach area he seems to be filled with eggs. I have and raised clownfish from this pair. A couple of months ago I added a few of their off springs to their tank. The male seemed to really like them, but the female just ignored them. Could it be possible that my male is tranformong because of adding the offsprings?

He could just be over fed, males will only change into female if there isn't a female present, other wise they remain male. And someone can correct me if I'm wrong there really no difference in look other than size, the only true way to tell is to dissection.

That's what I thought, but he has been acting wierd around the female, not his usual self. I have had them for 5 years now, and he has never acted this way before. Also he has not been sleeping with her, like they always use too. Oh well let's see what really happens, and if he changes that would be a story to tell lol. But thx again for replying Mr. Limpid.

As long as the female is not attacking the male then I wouldn't worry. Maybe the are going threw the 7 year itch early, lol.
