mandarin discoloration...help

The mandarin that I've had for a week has been doing well up until yesterday. At that point we noticed some white discoloration on different parts of his body and it seems as if the spots are growing in size. Any idea? I don't believe this is ick what it looks like is that his color is leaving him in small turning to large patches.

How long has your tank been up....it may not be finding the copepods it needs to eat.

I've had it for 8 months and it was set up for 18 months before that. The copepods are all over. You think it's lack of nutrition?

Thats kinda what it sounds like.....it may also have gotten too stressed out during the move. I have had some really experience aquriaists tell me that if you are going to have a tank with mandarian's in it, you need to devote it to a couple of mandarians and thats it, because the bigger fish will be too much competition for food.
Just my 2 cents though.
