We were interested in getting a Mandarin, but we have lots of polyps, zoos, mushrooms, etc.
Do they eat those thing??

no mandarins are reef safe. it may appear they are eating the zoos or shrooms but they are actually hunting for pods...

no offence to anyone in this nano thread, but NONE of you have the tank or the right to have a mandrin. I have a 160 GALLON reef and i can barely support one correctly. Please think of the animal...untill you have a larger tank do not buy one...they NEED pods to survive.

Their natural diet is pods
. You should feed him pods
. Try to make sure he eats pods
. If he doesnt eat pods
... he should. So make sure there are plenty of pods
. Do you have more pods
? No? Get more pods
. How do you get more pods
? Build a refugium and put plants in there for more pods
to grow. Get more pods
.

Well these things are constantly in search of food.... so you 'think' he is eating brine more.. but he is probably chomping on pods constantly. So if thats the case.... continue what you're doing :)
pods pods pods pods pods pods pods

Mandarins will go together with any fish that wont attack them :) Other dragonets however may result in fights.
