mandarin help

my new mandarin dragonette keeps opening his mouth and his gills like fish do when they dont have enough oxygen or whatever. he just started exploring the tank today and i dont know what to do. all the other fish are fine. is this something they do?

salinty 1.027

Usually when a fish appears to yawn it means that the salinity is a little high for him. Dragonets do this a little anyway. If he also doesn't appear to sit on the bottom very well, like he looses his grip and floats up a little, then thats a sign of the same thing. 1.025 would be better for him, but I dont know what else is in there.

yes i had enough pods. i would never see him eat and he used to stay in the same place all the time...... but he passed 2 days ago
