mandarin just got bit by worm

my mom was watching my tank a minute ago. she said my mandarin was eating of the lr and a white worm came out and bit it. she said it had bristles and was about a half inch long. i think it might have been a bristle worm. he is moving his lips real fast would the bite hurt him is there somthing i should do? i also have about 5 little larva looking thing on my LR next to my polyps could this be bristle worm larva or what? i have had my tank for 8 months and never seen any kind of forign worm in it. anyways thanks for the help.

HI,
I do not think there is much you can do but wait it out.
I do not think that bristle worms attack though.
I have had my tank almost two years and I see something new in it all the time. That's what I love about this hobby, ;)

hello, could be a bristle worm. from what i have read about them they can be a problem. they do have little bristles that do sting and he could have stung your mandarin. as for the larva, sorry can't help you there. :(

go to swf home page ,then go to information for the hobbiest, then go to inverts, then go down to worms and you'll find some info on bristle worms including a picture. HTH :)
