when do you think it might be OK for me to get a mandarin goby? ive had my tank up for about 6 months. ive got live rock and all, but dont they eat them copepod things?? how do i know if i have those?

Check out the bottom (substrate) of your tank. Have you seen any little bristleworms? If you've got them, chances are, you've got other stuff for the mandarins to eat! Do you have a ton of LR? They need lots of it too.

whats a bristle worm? ive seen some wierd little things crawling around my tank every once in a while. i also dont have a TON of live rock, but ive got a bit

as well as the 100 lbs of lr, make sure you don't have many other animals who eat the copepods i.e. wrasses, chromis, etc. if your fish pick at the rock and back glass, they're probably competition for the mandarin's food supply.

the mandarin i had ate black worms, brine shrimp, mysis shrimp, and even flakes...Until his fatal accident wit my strainerless filter

I would wait on getting the mandrian until you get more live rock. Those fish are very fussy and will die quick if not feed right. you need to really cater to there needs.:)
