Says in your pro-file "5 gallon" take it back. Needs established large tank. They love to munch on LR, and I have seen some waste away in a 60 gallon with 70lbs. of LR.

mandarin's require a large population of coepods to survive.an established tank is a must! some have had success feeding flake or other foods, but this is a gamble.this fish will most likely starve to death.try to take it back for some store credit.

those are animals that aren't very sucessful in any tanks. They need well established tanks that are full of copepods. I would return the animal and buy a goby. You don't want to see such a beautiful animal like a madarin dragonette die due to the fact that you didn't have enough live rock to provide it with sufficent food.

a 5 gallon tank is way too small. please take fish back or it will surely die. i have one in a 20, but i also have copepods breeding in another tank. they need much larger tanks with as much live rock as you can provide. otherwise they will starve to death. <img src="graemlins//dead.gif" border="0" alt="[dead]" />
