mandarins as sand sifter??

will a madarin work as a sand sifter for a dsb? if not what other goby or jawfish wouold be best for this job. do any of these "sifters" like to eat hermits or turbos? thanks for the help.

A mandaran will not work as a sand sifter. Some good sand sifting fish are diamond gobies and gold headed sleeper gobies,although the gold heads are a little tougher to keep. It is also a good idea to get a pair. Another good sifter item is white sand sifting starfish.
