mangroves

anyone use mangroves plants for filtration and if so can you give me some details as to how they work for you i am thinking about doing this in my tank

i have 2 mangroves, as to if they made a diff, not sure i put them into my sump same time as everything else that filters. I know that you never want to let the leaves die and fall off into the water, plus wipe them off with fresh water to get excess salt off the stalks and leaves.

Mangroves are a nice addition, but not the most practical source of nutrient export. They grow much slower than many macro algaes.

I have 2 of them in my fuge as well,i just like the look they give to the fuge and if they help export some,that's a plus.
