I think I've asked this question before without much luck... Currently, I go to "New World Aquarium" to buy all my fish... Just wondering what else was out there in manhattan (other than ***** and PetLand)... Any New Yorkers out there who can help me?

I live in LongIsland and there is a store called
parots of the world in Rockville Center on sunrise highway.
or they call it 27. aprox 40 mins from NYC. The prices are high
but quality of fish are top shelf, keeps them in the state of art
equipment.about 20 tanks of salt the rest fresh. He is known for
his parrots , he has a show on cable each week , hes name is mark( thats the owner).I am going to check out the store in franlin square, Im not to far from it.

Hmmm...parrots of the world...been there many times, like you said, great stock, HORRIBLE prices. They're not just high, they're incredible. Case in point: Scarlet cleaner shrimp, 39.99. 'Nuff said.
Check out Fishtown USA in Flushing...you can take the number 7 train from Manhattan to about 2 blocks from it. Excellent, superb stock, prices a LITTLE high, not too bad, but the store is dedicated to just fish, and has everything you could want. Being from the NY area, I gotta tell you though, I buy everything online. The prices here are UNREAL. Be careful tho, bring a compatibility chart or some other reference material with you when you go to Fishtown, because every time you go they have something you never expected to see, and sheesh, you have to resist! By the way, they still have a 2.5 ' Hawaiian Dragon Eel for sale, 499, which is a great price if you have the tank for it.
I'm going Tuesday, my bi-weekly trip, let me know if you guys want to do lunch :)

Great! I will definitely check both those stores out... Seriously, the prices are ridiculous here... But so far that hasn't even been my problem. I honestly can't believe that this island, Manhattan that is, only has one fish store that carries saltwater fish. It has great fish and all but it really limits my options... hence why I keep buying all these fish that I end up taking back a week later... And I will take your advice on the compatability chart... I am definitely a sucker for cute exotic fish! BTW, where online do you buy your fish? I'm open to trying that option out if I can find a reliable store/site... Thanks!
