Hey guys. I just noticed a new hitch hiker. Looks to be small mantis shrimp. Are these good or bad?

Mantis shrimp are really hard to take care of. The water must be pristine. It also needs to be by itself because anything else in the tank is just another meal to him.
If he doesn't eat it he'll beat the crap out of it when it gets close enough.
I had thought about doing a mantis tank but after researching it decided against it because I want more than just that in my tank.

A three inch mantis shrimp has a stronger punch than a caliber 22 and its so fast it uses air bubbles to paralize there prey so if you're going to take it out I don't reccomend a net set up a trap

It doesn't use air bubbles. The air bubbles are actually concussion waves caused by the impact and doesn't paralyze their prey it just increases the damage to the prey.

I've heard that if they were human size there punch could take you to the moon, and the military is studying it

I know a pet shop owner that got a four inch mantis shrimp that broke the glass wall that separates the tanks and ate over three hundred dollars of fish and trying to take him out he got his hand severely injured
