Mantis vs Pistol Info for everyone

hey there I just wanted to clarify some reading I have been doing on the internet about Mantis and pistol shrimps. A few websites I read said that the mantis shrimp will not make that very annoying snapping noise and this trait belongs to the pistol shrimp only. Sorry but this I have found to be untrue. They both make the sounds it seems. I was hearing that sound for a couple months now until today when I took the mantis shrimp out of my lr. It was a mantis(posive id) making that noise it was very constant althrough the day and night and now the continuos sound is no more.
Some of you may have already know this info, but I just wanted to add some imput to those of you wondering.

I have never read that a mantis doesnt make noise <img src="graemlins//yeahright.gif" border="0" alt="[yeahright]" /> In my research, I have found that they will both make noise. If I recall correctly, the mantis makes a rythmic popping noise in sessions of 3-4 like pop,pop,pop. A pistol will make the same noise but there is no real timed rythm..like a pop...pop,pop...pop or maybe just one pop at a time. I had both pistol and mantis when I first set up my tank with LR. At first I wasnt sure who was making what noise, but through process of elimination, I have found the research to be true. IME
