My understanding is that puffers get really big (I have never owned one so I am not the expert on any puffer). Make sure your tank can handle it's adult size, and if that's a yes...get the ONE you like best, I go by color.

my tank can handle both if i wanted both but that is another option

$70 is a great price for a Midnight. Though actually "midnight arothron" puffers, are just a color-morph of a Dogface puffer. Midnights come from the Solomon islands, one of the better places for fish.
As for the Mappa, most people don't have tanks properly set-up for one. Mappa's are among the largest puffers, and once they reach maturity, some of the meanest. A properly setup tank for a Mappa, includes only having tankmates that you do not care if they were gone the next day. I would trust a clown trigger long before a Mappa.
