I have been through the brown algae, small amount of green and now have been invaded with this maroon algae. Although it is very pretty it is very thick and clumpy and I am tired of it. What is it and how long will it last? Is there any way to get rid of it. cleaed the tank this morning and it is covered again.
Thanks for your help

Sounds like SLIME ALGAE.This is a problem algae, that is mainly brought on by poor water quality.Like most algae, this feeds on nitrates, and phosphates. What kind of water are you using,Tap or RO???Also, how old is this tank, how many fish, and what exactly are the readings???
