ive got a maroon clown that loves to move my sand around. i dont really mind much except that now he has moved so much i can see though the bottom of the tank. is there a way to get it to stop? i dont have any anenomes cause im saving for a good light. if and when i get an anenome will this stop this sand moving behavior?

probably. assuming the clown takes to the anemone it'll spend most of its time with it which leaves it little time to stir up sand.

Some people have luck getting thier clowns to host in corals. You might see if you can find one with long polyps that is suitable to your current lighting conditions.

ok thanks for the info. now what kind of anenomes do maroons tend to like better than others and how many can i safely put into a 75 gal tank, if he dosent take to the first one?

It is going to depend where the anemone decides to stay. My carpet is very close to the sand bed and the clowns still rearrange the sand.

our big maroon didnt stop pushing sand around after he started to host in our tank. but he did slow down alot on it. but now he loves to beat up corals around his area, so that is something to watch out for.
i would say a RBTA is the best one to start with if you are going to get one once you have good enough lighting. i wouldnt put more then 1 in at first, and never put more then 1 type in the same tank at a time, the clown can transfer the stinging cells from one to another and it can hurt them. if your water is in really good shape and you have good enough lights it will split at some point and you will have 2, so i would only start with 1. here are pics of both of our maroons hosting. first one is our bigger one in our 150, 2nd is of our baby gold strip maroon in our 30 nano.
