I have a new 20H and i was thinking of adding a pair of marron clowns. I have 23-26 lbs of lr and about a 2 inch sand bed. Is this too small of a tank for a maroon? If i were to add them they woukld be the only fish in the tank.

maroons arnt a good fish to have multiples of. I think i read somewhere that they are very aggressive toward their own kind. HtH

The best way to get 2 maroons is to get a mated pair. They are the most aggressive clown. I wouldn't try a pair in that size tank as they get large. (the female will get pretty big, the male won't) That size tank would however host a pair of the smaller clowns, like the percs. I have a pair of these guys and they are great, no aggression at all, you can hand feed mine, and they are very active.

what about tomato clowns. could i put two of those in my tank. I would order them small so they would pair as they grow. Probably too big though.

tomato clowns get fairly large as well, the tank bred percs are the only ones I know of that stay somewhat small, maybe someone else knows of another type.
