Hello everyone!!
I have a quick question! (perhaps not so much)
I just bought a small, about an inch long, Maroon Clownfish from the lfs, he had a fray on each of his front fins, and some slight frays on his tail because he was being nipped at by a damsel in the tank, but other then that he seemed to be the perfect specimen, he ate at the fish store and was quite active. After i brought him home he seemed to be crazy exhausted and 'rested' on the sand bed. he was sitting up right, still moving his fins around keeping him self righted but sitting on the sand bed. i figured he was just stressed from the move and was resting ( lights were out as to reduce stress ). So i checked on him periodicity throughout the night and now in the morning with the lights on, he is happily scooting around the tank. My question is about his swimming: he is swimming with his head up and his tail down, like he has a weight on his back side and is swimming 'up' to stay in the water column. Is this abnormal, or is it perhaps due to the slight fray in his fins? Also, every few minuets he will take a 'break' and go back down to the sand bed ad 'rest'. Any thoughts?
Water params:
0Amm
0nitrite
0-5 nitrate
75-76 F
1.023 salinity
Could it be O2 levels? all the other fish seem fine besides him. i did plop in an airstone in the sump and im running my skimmer minus the collection cup because i added some kordon Ich attack as a preventative for ich. I also dosed him with some 'aquatic stress relief' during acclimation which i did via drip four about 2 hours.
Speedy replies would be magnificent!
