Have a few questions.
1. Goldstripe Maroon Clownfish as juveniles may have white stripes, correct?
2. I introduced 2 of these, one larger than the other, 3 1/2 weeks ago to my system. Is it normal for them to stay on one side of the tank or particular rock most of the time?
The larger one swims slowly and stays near a "cubby hole" in a rock, in which a small hermit crab seems to stay also. The smaller one swims faster and usually stays at the top of the tank just above that same rock, going up and down about 6 inches.
Both eat when fed.
3. The stipes on both look incomplete. The larger of the two fish...the first stripe that is just behind the eye at the bottom is broken up. Did I make a bad pick or are these not true Maroon Clownfish?
4. The smaller of the two has very dark edges to all fins. Is this a water quality culprit? I try to feed a variety of flake food. I have tried feeding mysis and brine shrimp but neither one seem to want it. What else can I try?
I did try and make some homemade squid/garlic/squash mix but it didn't seem to get eaten. I only fed that once 2 weeks ago, I kept the rest in my freezer for later.
Out of 47 pictures, these are the only 2 that were decent enough to show.
Here is the best pic I could get of the larger one and his broken up stripe.
