Maroon Clowns

Hello fellow Reefers!

I had a newbie question. I am doing extensive research before i even attempt to stock my 29 gallon Bio Cube.

Can I have 2 maroon clowns together or would only one be ideal? i ask because I heard they are aggressive. Also do they need an anemone? If so can i have an anemone in a 29 bio cube?

You can have two but it can be difficult to pair them. I would not try to have any other fish in the tank if there is a Maroon because the female will claim about 4 square feet as her territory. In a 29 gallon that is the entire tank.

If you really want a pair I'd recommend buying a pair that has already bonded.

They do not require an Anemone. Any Anemone they have would have to be large, probably larger than is safe to keep in a 29 gallon tank.
