Maroon dying

I woke up this morning and noticed that my maroon clown is dying. I am in my 2nd week of hypo. The water params are ammonia 0, nitrate 0, nitrite 0, ph 8.1, salinity 1.009, temp 77. He looks as though he is shedding his skin. He has big patches of skin that have turned white and are coming off. He also has a few areas that look like he has indentations in his body. The other fish in the tank with him is a powder brown tang. He is the one that originally had ich. He appears to be healthy. I havn't seen any signs of ich on him foe about a week. The maroon is not dead yet, but unless there is something that someone can tell me soon I don't believe that he will last much longer.

I should also add that I did a 25% water change on friday. At that time the nitrites where a bit high .3

It could be brooklynella. How long have you had the fish? Brooklynella is a parasite and the final stages symptoms is usually the sloughing of skin.
You can perform a formalin bath every other day for 3-5 days. Using 37% formaldehyde [fomalin is the brand name] bathe the fish according to medication instructions for 1 hour every other day. Use the same water that you have in your hyposalinity tank to perform the treatment. If it is brook, you will need to move fast, as it kills fast.

Thanks for the reply. Will this spread to the other fish in the q-tank. They currently show no symptoms. I have had the clown for a little over 3 weeks. All of the LFS are closed now so I will go in the morning and get some formalin. Hopefully he will survive the night.

Thanks. I normally do only have 1 per q-tank. Just that when I had my ich outbreak I needed to move all fish and space was limited. I'll keep an eye on the other fish.
