Mars the Red Planet Acropora?????

i order a Mars the Red Planet Acropora online and thought i was going to get something like this

but instead i got this

now i know that they where not gunna just look alike...... but they LOOK NOTHING ALIKE :/

wow that coral needs some serious light, and nutrition. it doesnt look fatal but it sure doesnt look like the photo either. you should be able to bring it back though.

It needs to be cooked under the light. Get it up high and in good flow. It's the same coral, it's just lacking light and hasn't sprouted an branches/stalks yet. You probably got an encrusted base piece that had healed after someone snapped the branch off to frag.

Curious, where did you order from? Some places are known for photoshopping corals to make them look better. But I've seen this one in person. You need more light and great water quality. Might want to try some Nutramar Ova to feed

i got it from aquacon.com and today is the third it will be in my tank..... its place in the top middle of the tank so it gets good light and strong flow

Google "aquacon review" and see what others have experienced with those folks. There have been folks on this forum who also have felt ripped off.

+1 which was why I asked where it was from. They're one of the ones known for photoshopping and using filters on their pics.
Anyways, your coral can look more like the picture with care. Cook it under the lights. High light, high flow, good water quality and feed it
