Rhode Island is a bit of a drive but closer than most good stores. What are some of the names of the stores you are talking about? (especially the exceptional one) lol

i live in mass and havent found one yet not to many privatly own ones on this side of mass

there are three, if not four, stores nearish to you.
coral reef (southwick) and aquadreams (agawam) are two i visit religeously.
there's one in idian orchard , fish frenzy, but have never been.
there's one store in seekonk that club members rave about, coral reef aquarium (don't know where seekonk is though).
look up boston reefers, vermont marine aquarists, salthub (n.h), salt water addicts of maine (SWAM), CT Area Reef society (CTARS). they may have websites that show closer stores to wherever you are.

I was reffering to western mass as "here" sorry. I have been to fish frenzy and wasnt impressed. Their corals seemed fine and their service is great but their fish dont seem to healthy. I will have to check out coral reef and aquadreams. How are those stores? What kind of sellections do they have?

Coral Reef is one of the ones I say is good, not spectacular. However its about what your looking for that would make one stand out more than the other. All around selection and price, yes coral reef is probably the best in the area which I include RI, and South Eastern MA. They do have a very impressive coral selection. The other one which IMO is the best is something fishy inc. They are in Warwick RI, google the name they have a website. Their staff is second to none, 2 marine biologists and a 3 or 4 other employees with degrees in some type of aquatic background. They are more expensive than any other store I have been too, but IMO they are worth it as far as their live stock is concerned. I wouldnt go there and expect an incredible coral selection, although they have a lot its nothing out of the ordinary and their prices for them are unbelievably expensive. The last place I would recomend is Tropical Isle, I believe they are in Framingham MA. HUGE!! selection prb most I have seen in one place, but the staff tell you what they want to make a sale so be careful.

coral reef in southwick (not the one PD is talking about) is a BASIC BASIC store. he's got great prices on fish though, but his corals leave you wanting... he's got such an aptasia problem in his tanks you'd not want to buy any.
aquadreams has a GREAT selection of salt fish and 5 tanks full of corals/frags. he is a tad on the high side but you DEFINITELY get what you pay for. unfortunately, the owner and one of his employees seem to be the only reefers that work there. he's got two kids working that don't impress me much unfortunately. one of em sold a lady three tangs, and was about to sell her a trigger until i stepped in.

Kevin, also if you're close enough to the border, there are a ton of stores near the hartford area. look up ct fish stores and there's a listing of them, throughout CT.
stay as far away from emmons as you possibly can... i hate that store and am 10 mins away from there. i will never go in there until the owner leaves.

they do not sell bottled pods no. do you have a fuge? and shame on YOU for not researching before BUYING the scooter blenny...yes, shame on them for selling, but you're half to blame :p
if you do have a fuge, they have some GREAT macro algae full of pods in their BIG display.

I am very close to the CT border (near Somers and Enfield). Have you ever been to The House of Fins in Greenwich? I have heard it is one of the best stores in the country but is about 2 hours away

Does aqua dreams have aussie acans and rare/colorful zoas? Those are the main corals I will be looking for. Also anything like blastos or micros?
