Math for drop / raise salt during Hypo?

Is there a mathamatical equation for the amount to drop salinity during hypo treatment?
As I understand we can drop salinity over a week, but raise it over two weeks.
Okay, I was read it could be dropped as fast as a few days, but raise it up twice as slow.
Is there an amount to delude salt water, or should one add straight (purified) clean water.
Example: 60g tank, salt at 1.023. Drop .002 a day until it reaches 1.009 (about 7 days).
Leave here about 3 - 6 weeks, then slowly raise up, about .001 a day until back at 1.023 (about 14 days).
I am tring to see how much (percentage) of tank water to change and with clean water or deluded salt water.
Any rule of thumb or best ways to go about this.
Dropping salinity sounds risky and I have read of people having problems, yes i have a refractometer, and yes I will monitor PH (will a "Kent Ph buffer" be good enough).
Any last minute advise before beggining?

No, there is no math to this. Its not as werid and risky as it seems on the face of it. I usually take several gals of water out of the tank, all the water that I plan to replace during the course of day, then, in small increments start replacing it with FW that is buffered. The size of the tank really guides you with how much. Then, repeat the first day's water exchange on the 2nd day.
The procedure is outlined in the FAQ Thread at the top of the forum.
