:help: I am setting up my tank for the first time and need a little help please...newbie
I have a 46G BF with a AquaC Remora /Maxijet 1200 skimmer, 2 additional maxijet 1200's & an emperor 280 power filter. Right now I have the skimmer & power filter next 2 each other in the left back corner & my heater in the back right. Where is the best placement for my maxijets so I don't have any dead spots...placement wise, height wise and direction they should be pointing? Also, they came with a bunch of different parts...do I need the air intake/venturi hoses attatched, or is just the water flow enough?
Thanks

You will not need the air attachments nor the suction mounting kits. Just use the extenders so that they can attach to the back of the tank. I would use one on each side of the back corners of the tank. Preferably I would only have used two MJ900's. The 1200's are power hogs and might kick some of your sand around. The 1200's should be used on 55 gallon tanks but if it works for you then go for it. The 900's use much less power 8.5 watts vs the 1200's 20 watts per powerhead.

Thanks:)
Hope they work out. I don't have me sand in yet so I will just have to wait & see how it goes. Guess I can always replace them if I have to...at least they are one of the cheap parts of the setup! Do I want them pointing straight, up, down, placed at different heights?

Have them pointing toward the front middle of the glass to begin with and go from there for adjustments.
