every website says something different bout these guys lol...does anybody on here who owns one, what do u feed it? ours is over 3in n the guy we bought from said we dont need to feed it just if its smaller in size?? websites are telling me to just keep the water at certain levels especially calcium..what do you think??

And is 1 150 watt MH with 4 26watt T5s sufficient eno for having clams? My tanks 23" tall and light is 6" away from tank...

Your set up seems fine but try and keep your calcium 380-450ppm as it uses calcium to grow it's shell. It's getting nearly all it's food through lighting at this point.

the basic "rule of thumb" for clams is anything smaller than 3" should have supplemental feedings, as they lack the mantle mass to thrive on their zooxanthellae alone.
as for your 3-incher, you don't HAVE to feed it, but it will do better if you feed it live phyto 2-3x a week.

you may want to "spot feed" the baby clam with a feeding cap. alternatively, some peeps remove them to a bowl of tankwater tinted light green with phyto and leave them for about 30-40 mins (the water should be fairly clear by then).
