maybe a dumb temp question

i have done a search but cant seem to find anything about it..... but what temperature will kill the fish? both high and low

that a hard question to answer, most fish have different tolerance levels to heat and cold, even keeping a tank in the right range fluctuations can weaken and kill fish so there really is no direct answer, if you list the fish your inquiring about either Myself or someone else can give you the specifics for that fish but there is no one size fits all temp.

Tough question with no direct answer.
Rule of thumb..... Pick a temp between 78-82 and keep is consistent with no more than a 2 degree swing in a 24 hour period.
