Maybe a Limpet? Identify?

Saw this guy laying back up on my LR today. Looks like some kind of Limpet but thought I would post and see if anyone new exactly. Thanks.

doesnt look like a limpet to me it looks like a snail that his shell has been broken offand theres just a little shell left

Thats exactly what I thought when I saw it.
Like the inside of a large turbo snail.. it looks exactly like that.

Thanks for the replies, I not sure is it is a part of a snail it is way to big for any of my turbos and my two big mexican turbos are doing fine, does look a little bit like a snail but I think it may have come on some new rock I put in recently. any other ideas?

It is the protective cap that a turbo snail has. It caps its shell opening when it retracts.
Im 99.99% sure of this because ive watched a hermit kill a turbo snail, and he had to pull that cap off in order to kill the snail. Now all that is left of the snail is its shell and the cap.

yeah if its flat thats what it is, ive found them in my tanks also
