Maybe getting some corals today. Placement ideas/advise appreciated.

Hello all,
So last week I upgraded my tank's lights, filtration, and added a skimmer and I think today is the day I will bring home my first corals (yay)!
I am thinking no more than 3 corals at this time (unless I get a really good deal on a fourth).
Here's a couple of pics to show what the rock on my tank currently looks like:

FRONT
And

PROFILE
Quick note about these pics: These pics came out really dark on my phone. The LED lighting is actually so bright that I had to darken the pics otherwise everything would look washed out on the phone.
Anywho, since my rockwork isnt that high (I still plan on adding more) I think at this time corals that need to be up near the surface and directly under the light by a few inches are out for now.
So for right now I'm thinking of a coral that could be placed in on the sand near the middle rock (maybe a plate or brain coral), a coral with longish tentacles that could sway in the current on the middle ledge (to the right of the Arrow Crab and below the Cleaner Shrimp), and also a coral I would like to place on the high rock on the far right of the tank towards the front (like, on the slope as seen in the 2nd pic).
I kinda want to avoid placing corals on the left side of the tank at this time because I plan on filling that area with more live rock eventually and create a high platform for the corals that would need to be really really close to the light (and also hide my filter better) but right now I'm happy with the midde and right side's rocks.
So those are my thoughts. If any of y'all have maybe a better placement idea or have an idea of a type of coral that you think would look really good in the tank as it currently is let me know and when I get to the LFS in a few hours I'll see if they have it.

Ok came home with 3 nice pieces today: a Button Polyp, a Star Polyp, and a Frogspawn. I'll be taking some pics soon... just as soon as they open up and inflate fully :)

Congratulations on your first coral! I have a stubby finger leather in the sand, it would look good in your tank. You might try one of these...here is a picture.

I really like your aquascaping! You will be happy with those corals the frogspawn and star polyps will grow pretty quickly. I have 2 bubble corals that are really easy as well and I like the movement they add to the tank.
Flower--I really like your green and blue mushrooms. I'm tired of my plain ol red ones. Looks like your seahorse likes the finger leather. I will have to keep that in mind if we ever do set up a seahorse tank.

Those are good starters - easy to care for. awaiting pics :)
Ask and ye shall recieve!

The button and the frog are wieghted because they're attached to a rock, but the star wasnt, and a few hours after taking this pic it was knocked off its perch by a snail, so now I placed it upright in the sand by the gray rock to the right of the arrow crab in the pic.
The timing on my part going to the store was really really lucky... they litterally were finishing putting their new shipment of corals into their tanks right as I came in, so I had a huge selection to choose from. There were some really awesome corals in the 40-50 dollar range which I would have totally bought, but I wanted to try to get 3 pieces and keep the total cost around 70. IIRC the button polyp was 11, the frogspawn was 25, and the star polyp was 20, so yay, I stayed within my budget woohoo!

Good sized button polyp for 11 bucks IMO... its about 3 inches across, and some of the larger heads are about the size of a quarter. Really cool to look at. In fact, these corals are what got me into wanting corals in the first place lol. Eventually I think I'll get more of these in different colors.

This frog came with a bonus.. although you can't see it in the pic, there is a tiny feather worm that pokes its feelers out every few seconds. I called the LFS about it and they said that sometimes corals can have these and they are not harmful, so I think I'll just consider myself lucky to have that little extra bit of movement from this coral.

Although this wasn't my favorite looking coral in the world, the shop owner suggested this star polyp because I told him my nitrate level was ~10 last time I checked, and he said these will do well because they are nitrate eaters. Since I took it home it has grown on me now.
Sorry for making this 2 posts... but for some reason the site wouldn't let me enter text after posting my first pic :p

Wartooth, I only posted a picture so you see what a stubby finger looks like. They like the sand..... and you mentioned getting some coral for the sand, they grow pretty fast and they look kind of light purple....I think you would like them, i got it from SWF.
Green star polyps grow fast and they spread. Look behind my stubby finger, the flat rock is covered with them. Put the rock they are attached to on in the sand, so they don't get all over everything in the tank, that way you can control them....Then just set them on a rock you want them on and nothing else....I have given away all kinds of it that way.
Those zoa are beautiful, the look like they have their own light, I have a tiny colony just like them that didn't die when my heater broke. I think you did great for your first picks and at a reasonable price too.

LOL...Folks I cropped the picture so I could show the coral...I didn't even see the seahorse until I posted it. They usually hide when I get out the camera. But thnks for the compliments...I feel like I highjacked Wartooths thread and it wasn't my intent....sorry Wartooth.
I have always wanted red mushrooms with the blue dots....some day.

Haha Flower don't worry all is forgiven lol!
That stubby finger looks great and I'll definately have to check them out or keep my eyes open for them in my LFS travels... Since you mentioned how to control the spread of star polyps, I currently have mine on the sand roughly an inch and a half from any other rocks (because a snail knocked it over when I had it on a rock). Should I move it closer to a rock if I want it to spread a bit or would it be ok where it is?
Also, 1GuyDude and Slice, the shop I went too had some really nice looking brains, plates, candy canes, and colony polyps, so I think I'll be drooling over those for a while. They also had a variety of torch corals too, which looked really nice.
Other than that, if I come across any random frags that look cool, I'll probably impulse buy them lol!

Oh yeah in just so y'all know, this mornign I put in some coral food, and now all the corals look like they are twice their original size! In fact, you can barely see the gray rock the frogspawn is on now :D
Really neat seeing the button polyp eat... once it catches something the mouth slowly opens and the outer body folds in so the mouth can grab the food... really cool!

You will like the stubby finger, it's pretty hardy.
If you want the GSP on another rock just set the original on it...it will grow past the first rock and spread to the second..it all takes time but once it grows a little on the new rock remove the first colony and it will fill itself in and cover the new rock, any rocks where a polyp touches
will begin to grow with it. Then you can trade, sell or give away new carpets of it. A few people have GSP that came from my tank.
