Hi all I've got a question about a my fish. I only have a yellow watchman goby, eibli angel, 2 hermits, chocolate chip star and the mean dottyback so far. Just got the 3 fish to start and the goby stays in hiding because when he comes out the sdback tries to fight w/him. Yesterday I got the crabs and star. When I put the bags in the tank to get ready the sdback kept nipping at the crabs. It's left them alone since, and the goby seems to be getting fed up and sticking up for himself. The question is, if I get another goby will they stay out more or should I have gotten a mated pair to begin with and now I'm out of luck? Thanks

I don't think it would be wise to add another goby, unless they don't look anything like each other. But Goby's in general hide out a lot, that is just their nature, and if you had two of them, you would have two hiding gobys. They will stick their head out for food, and dart and grab a piece and bring it back into the hole. I would wait at least 2 -3 weeks before adding anymore fish.
