To make a long story short, they (NATO) wants to create a new medal, where they reward a soldier for not firing, to save non-combatants in a combat zone.
But what I wanna know i about is them awarding such metal posthumously... I savor irony...

An award for doing nothing. Who do they think they are, Obama?
My wife told my son "they give you the bullets for a reason, EMPTY THE CLIP!!!"

I don't remember, did either of you serve in the defense of our country in the military, ever? I could be wrong , I don't think so.
Not a grandfather, father, son, grandson, but you.... If not, you may have more in common with Obama than you originally thought.

That was a reference to Obama's Nobel gift, not his lack of Military service. Anyone who didn't raise the issue with Bush just serving in the Guard shouldn't be raising it with anyone. My only issue was with Bill Clinton protesting our military in a foreign country against the was he pull in political favors to stay out of. Didn't care for that.

To other people too
I don't have the Stephen Hawking's time during work. Though he was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the highest civilian award in the United States.
