I have a freshwater tank and I add some copper based drops every week to prevent ich. I know that copper based medicines arent good to use in a SW tank with inverts. Does anybody know of a medicine to add to the SW tank to PREVENT ich?

The only prevention is a Quarantine Tank. There is nothing else. Some people try to feed their fish garlic soaked food, which may "help" but it is certainly not foolproof.

Thanks Beth,
I have read about the garlic and maybe I will do that 1-2 times a week.
Thanks for the reply. :happyfish :notsure:

You have to do it once a day. Freshly minced garlic, not bottled garlic. Use a glass container to chop the garlic, just a small piece will do. The glass container will perserve the garlic juice. Then add meaty food to the glass container, let soak for 15 mins in fridge before offering to fish.
You can also add a bit of garlic to homemade fish food receipes, such as the one I detail in the FAQ.
