Melafix and corals

I have a sick clown. I'm not really sure how to describe it. Have you ever rubbed carpet the opposite way and noticed how it stands up? This is what some of the scales look like. Also it looks like part of his fin is rotting away (fin rot?). Do you have any idea what it might be? Maybe I need to be more descriptive or provide more information? I am treating with Melafix. Is this safe for corals? It claims to be safe for invertebrates. I don't have any corals right now but will have a leather on Thursay (online order), along with a firefish goby. I am setting up a quarantine tank tonight for the new fish. Can I put the leather in my display or does it need to go in the quarantine while I treat the other fish? Thanks a lot.

Well, i have used it w/ my polyps and had no problems. Just make sure to turn the skimmer off for about 1 day otherwise it will really foam. and remove carbon. Im not sure about all corals though. I used it for torn fins a couple of times and it did well
