I don't know what this thing is either, but it too is in the dark area in the wet/dry. It appears to look like a tiny spongelike creature with a tube type tip. Any clue what the heck it is???
Nope your right... I had those lil "grains of puffed rice " all over my filter.. they actully have made home in my bio wheel... beats me why...

Hi Carole. Yup, I've been really busy these days. I just added two new Bang Eye Cardinals, a new cleaner shrimp who is kind of shy and a Leather Coral. I hope to post some pics tonight... How's things in the middle of the state.

LOL. Actually, not been much going on work wise. I been sitting on the promotion list for ever and since I'm tired of getting screwed over, I gave myself a 50% raise. Now I do half as much as I used to...
I was in Tallahassee for the Police Memorial on the 10th. That place blows. No good bars. I ended up drinking by the pool all day and all night. It was funny to watch all the younger guys about to drop from standing at attention for 45 minutes the next morning.
