metal halide 250 w 65k

what does all this mean I understand the 250w but what does 65k mean and is this is a good setup up for a 55 gallon tank along with a 4 foot actintic bulb Thanks Dean :D

65k is the color temperature of the bulb. It is probably 6500k. "K" is "degrees kelvin," which is a measure of the spectrum of light the bulb puts out. For a 55 gallon, you would need two MH lamps, as most recommend one MH lamp for every two feet of tank. You might could get away with putting one in the middle, and put low light stuff on the edges. Heat will be a problem. Make sure you have good fans, and you may still need a chiller for that set-up.
